More Than A Candle

         When first entering our store, you will be surrounded by the rich aroma of a variety of scents being hand poured right here in our shop. Each and every candle that we sell at More Than A Candle is individually hand poured by one of our store’s owners, Dustin and Noel Shultz, and their families. The Shultz family has inhabited the Smoky Mountains for many generations & we take pride in being able to create these treasures for the tourists who made our little town what it is today. We purchased the store in May of 2012 from the previous owners and have been churning out candles ever since. All of our candles are soy based which is one of the many reasons why they are superior to regular paraffin candles. Soy candles are cleaner so you will never find that unsightly black soot ring around the top of our candles that is a regular nuisance found in paraffin candles. Soy candles are also cooler to the touch so you can easily light them without fear of being burned by the wax. In fact, our soy candles are so safe that you can actually use the melted wax as a hand lotion, which makes these candles more versatile than paraffin based candles. In addition, our soy candles will burn much longer than paraffin candles, i.e. our 8 oz. jars will burn for as long as 30-40 hours!
